More About Yoga and Meditation
Life moves fast. Sometimes too fast and we just want it to slow down. Sometimes we just need to remember how to do that for ourselves so we can find balance, perspective, direction and recharge our batteries to move forward.
Relaxation is a learned skill.
By using stress management techniques that anyone can learn you can truly change the quality, control and character of your life. For Private Customized Yoga Sessions please contact me to schedule. $50 - $90 an hour
Below is a selection of drop-in yoga classes I teach at Ubuntu Napa and Health Quest Napa Valley.

Let's unwind and stretch out some of the tensions of our lives by practicing the softer side of yoga. We will use meditations, breathing, props, pillows, blankets, straps, and time to open and relax body mind and spirit. This is a more 'yin' style of class which means we will get into soft postures and really enjoy them, let ourselves melt their and truly savor being in the moment, being alive , being able to care for ourselves in this simple way.
The class is a great place to start for beginners but every practitioner can gain benefit from working at their skill level but in a deeper, more mindful pace. In other words, there is room for modifications for the very new to yoga as well as those who have been practicing quite awhile. There is a powerfully healing aspect to slowing down, getting centered and living with "what is". It teaches us self acceptance as well as how to have fun with "where you are today".
Basic yoga skills will be related to life skills such as
Keeping your balance
Getting grounded staying connected
Simple enjoyment in the "flow" of life
Tools to staying present and the value there in
Learning how to relax
| Yoga 1 & 2 |

Yoga 1 & 2 is a class designed to help beginners and practiced yogis alike learn simple tricks to keep their practice safe, sustainable, and fresh. By looking at simple guidelines growing from body engineering, everyday physics, simple meditation "tricks", and perspective checks, we will learn how to make yoga work for us on our level and from where we are today.
This light-hearted class will help you understand the basics of yoga, the physics of yoga, why we do this, the primary structure and stretches in each pose, how to use the breath as a tool and why it is important, and how all of this affects a person “spiritually”... how it enlivens a person.
These collections of ideas are the mad creation of the woman who named the studio CYCo in the first place. They are a gathering of tools she uses everyday while teaching and from observing how beginners respond to yoga and grow into their strengths through yoga. The idea is to use these "secrets" to grow strong enough within your yoga practice until you no longer need them. Then the tools are with you for life to use in class or in your everyday life.
Flow Yoga This energetic style of yoga based on Sun Salutations (with meditation, warm up, standing postures, deep stretches and relaxation time) uses the breath more than any other style of yoga. As you inhale and exhale, you move into and out of poses, you energize and relax within the pose, you continually stoke your inner fire by simply adding the element of conscious breath. This style is usually more active and can accommodate many levels since everyone monitors their own engagement and intensity. |
